Dee Whitson

	Dee Whitson, formerly of Du Quoin, passed away in the Loma Linda, California Veteran's Hospital on March 23, 2003.  Dee was a 26-year retired veteran of the U.S. Marine Corp.  A full 21-gun salute military ceremony was held by U.S. Marines (from 29 Palms) at the Riverside, California National Cemetery on March 31.
	Dee served in World War II, the Korean Conflict, Vietnam, Guantanamo Bay, the Lebanon Crisis, Libyan Affair and other situations as a member of the U.S.. Marines Air Wing.
	Dee was the son of Lennie Whitson and Estle 'Red' Whitson of Du Quoin, now deceased.  Dee was survived by his wife, Evelyn, several children, plus numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  He is also survived by his brother, Bob Whitson, formerly of Du Quoin, an Air Force veteran of the Korean Conflict and still a member of the Du Quoin American Legion and Du Quoin Elks Club.
